Add points of interest
Updated 9 July 2026Club plan and up
Points of interest are the annotations on a drive - the fuel stop before the good bit, the viewpoint pull-in, the café at the halfway mark. They show as amber markers on the map, for you and for everyone you share the route with.
Adding them
- In the route builder, switch the panel to the Points tab.
- Click the map where the stop is - a marker drops.
- Give it a title, a description and optionally a photo.
The key distinction
POIs are not driven through - they don't change the route line at all. That's the difference from waypoints:
- Waypoint - "drive via here". Changes the route.
- Point of interest - "worth knowing about here". Pure information.
If the route should detour to the café, add a waypoint there too. If it just passes close by, a POI is enough.
On the shared route page, visitors see your POIs on the map with their descriptions and photos - it's what turns a line on a map into a proper club run guide.
