Pick a venue for your event
Updated 9 July 2026
The Venue tab sets where the event happens - which drives the map on the public page, the Get Directions button, and unlocks the layout canvas.
Three ways to set it
- Search an address - start typing and pick from the suggestions; the map pin drops automatically.
- Pick from your venue library - venues you've saved in the Venue Finder appear here ready to reuse. Picking one links the venue to the event and fills in its name, address, capacity and notes for you. That's the point of the library: scout once, reuse for every event. See Your venue library.
- Place the pin by hand - for that layby, field entrance or industrial estate that has no address.
Unlinking a library venue keeps anything you've edited by hand and clears what came from the venue record.
Drive-time reach
The Drive-Time Reach tool answers two questions before you commit to a venue:
- Who can reach it? Pick a budget (15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes) and see the area from which the venue is reachable within it.
- Where's fair for everyone? Add the towns your members come from, and it finds the area reachable by all of them within the budget - then suggests a meet point inside it. One click uses that as the event's location.
