Pick a venue for your event

Updated 12 July 2026

The Venue card sets where the event happens. It drives the map on the public page, the Get Directions button and the weather forecast, and unlocks the layout canvas.

Three ways to set it

  • Pick from your venue library - venues saved in the Venue Finder appear here. Picking one is all you need to do: it links the venue to the event and fills in the name, address, capacity, surface and notes automatically. See Your venue library.
  • Search an address - pick from the suggestions; the map pin drops automatically.
  • Place the pin by hand - for the layby, field entrance or industrial estate with no address.

While an event is linked to a library venue, its details are shown read-only - they belong to the venue, not the event. Spotted a mistake? Edit in Venue Library fixes the venue itself and every event linked to it updates automatically. For a one-off change on just this event, unlink it - the details stay behind as an editable copy.

Drive-time reach

The Drive-Time Reach tool answers two questions before you commit to a venue:

  • Who can reach it? Pick a budget (15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes) and see the area the venue is reachable from within it.
  • Where's fair for everyone? Add the towns your members come from and it finds the area reachable by all of them within the budget, then suggests a meet point inside it. One click sets that as the event's location.
