Event details and write-ups
Updated 9 July 2026
The Details tab holds everything about the event itself.
Date and time
Set a start, and optionally an end. Both matter more than they look:
- The public event page shows a live countdown to the start, and switches to "Happening now" during the event.
- The Add to Calendar buttons on the page use them.
- The timetable flags blocks that fall outside the event window (a soft warning - pre-start blocks like "Gates open" are fine).
- Once the end passes, the event stops counting against your active-event limit.
The write-up
The description is a proper rich-text editor - headings, bold, lists, links. It appears on the public event page, so write it for attendees: what's on, what to bring, where to park. If you export the event to Facebook, the same write-up goes with it as plain text.
Web address
Every event has a slug - the last part of its address, like /events/summer-sprint-2026. It's generated from the name, and you can edit it. Change it sparingly once you've shared the link, as the old address stops working.
Extras
- Featured - pin the event to the top of your site's event listings with a star badge. See Feature an event.
- Include club rules - attach your club rules (from Club Settings) when exporting to Facebook.
- Ride route - link one of your driving routes to the event. See Link a route to an event.
