Plan your event layout

The Layout tab is a drawing canvas over a real satellite or street map of your venue - mark out parking zones, club stands, the entrance queue, trade pitches, first aid. It unlocks once the event has a venue address.

Map mode vs drawing mode

The canvas has two modes, toggled by the lock button:

• Map unlocked - pan and zoom to frame the venue exactly; shapes dim while you move the map.
• Map locked - the map holds still and the shapes become editable.

Switch the base map between street and satellite view - satellite is usually best for marking real-world features.

Drawing

Add rectangles, circles, triangles, arrows and text labels. Then:

• Drag to move, with edges snapping to nearby shapes for tidy alignment (hold Alt to place freely).
• Drag corners to resize (hold Shift to keep proportions), and rotate as needed.
• Double-click a shape to type its label ("Members parking", "Show & shine").
• Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V / Ctrl+D to copy, paste and duplicate.
• Text labels can sit outside the canvas frame - handy for captions around the edge.

Sharing the plan

Two ways to get the layout in front of people:

• Show it on the event page - the "Show Layout On Event Page" toggle (on by default) renders a read-only version on the public page.
• Export a PNG - the export button downloads the canvas as an image for posters, WhatsApp or a marshals' briefing pack.
