Plan your event layout

Updated 28 July 2026Club plan and up

Layout is a drawing canvas over a real map of your venue - mark out parking zones, club stands, the entrance queue, trade pitches, first aid. Click the map at the top of the planner to open it full-screen; the back arrow (top-left) returns. It unlocks once the event has a venue location.

Frame your venue

When the canvas opens, pan and zoom to frame the venue. It opens on satellite so you can pick out the real car park, gates and grass; the map button (top-right) switches to the street map if that suits the site better. The on-screen hint walks you through each step as you go.

Once you've dropped a shape the map holds still so your plan doesn't drift as you edit. Need to reposition it later? Tap the lock button (top-right) to free the map, move it, then pick a shape again to carry on.

Drawing

Pick a shape from the toolbar along the bottom - rectangle, circle, triangle, arrow or text - and drag on the map to place it. Choosing a shape drops you straight into editing; there's no separate mode to switch on first. Then:

  • Drag to move - edges snap to nearby shapes (hold Alt to place freely).
  • Drag corners to resize (hold Shift to keep proportions), and rotate as needed.
  • Double-click a shape to type its label ("Members parking", "Show & shine").
  • Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V / Ctrl+D to copy, paste and duplicate.
  • Text labels can sit outside the canvas frame - handy for captions around the edge.

Sharing the plan

  • Show Layout On Event Page (on by default) renders a read-only version on the public event page.
  • The export button downloads the canvas as a PNG for posters, WhatsApp or a marshals' briefing pack.
