Scenic routing and preferences
Open Routing Options in the convoy builder's panel to control the character of the drive, not just where it goes.
Fastest vs Scenic Route
- Fastest - the sensible, direct drive.
- Scenic Route - a 0–100 twistiness dial that biases the convoy onto curvier, more interesting roads. Low values nudge it off the dull A-road; high values actively hunt out the bends. The convoy recalculates as you commit a change, so experiment.
Road preferences
Each preference is a three-way switch - avoid, no preference, or prefer: Motorways, Fast Roads, Quiet Country Roads, Toll Roads, Tunnels, Fords & Water, Cobbled Streets.
Prefer quiet lanes and avoid tolls for a Sunday cruise; prefer fast roads for getting somewhere.
Preferences are steering, not rules
A preference changes how attractive a road type is - it doesn't ban or force anything. If the only way over a river is a toll bridge, an "avoid tolls" convoy still uses it rather than failing. The panel reports what actually happened: each active preference gets a tick ("Applied to this convoy") or a warning ("2 mi couldn't be avoided"), and the Routing Options button summarises it - "Scenic 60 · 3 of 4 applied".
