Use a route in an event
Updated 9 July 2026Club plan and up
Routes are built as a library: a route isn't part of any one event, so the same drive can serve this year's run, next year's rematch and any Sunday social in between - without rebuilding a thing.
Connecting the two
The link is made from either end:
- From the event - the event's Details tab has a ride-route picker. See Link a route to an event.
- From the route - the route's details panel has a linked-event field.
Either way, the public event page gains a route card (map preview, distance, duration) that clicks through to the full route page with its directions and roadbook.
Checklist for it to show
- The route is Public - a draft or password-protected route never appears on an event page, by design.
- The event links to it.
- Both are saved.
A pattern that works
Build and fine-tune the route early as a draft, link it to the event whenever, and flip the route to Public when you announce - the card appears on the event page the moment the route goes live.
